Judicial Reform and Institutional Strengthening (JURIST) Project (Regional Institution)

The Judicial Reform and Institutional Strengthening (JURIST) Project is a CDN 20M initiative funded jointly by Government of Canada with counterpart contributions from Regional Institutions and project beneficiary Member States.  According to the project website, “The Project has been working with judiciaries in the region, for the past two years, to support their own efforts to improve court administration and strengthen the ability of the courts and the judiciary to resolve cases efficiently and fairly.”

Building on experience gained in the early stages of the Caribbean Leadership Project, CARICAD was able to make a significant contribution to the startup of the JURIST project by participating in the development of the Project Implementation Plan (PIP) and leading on the PIP components for Information Technology and Business Process Reengineering.  Post Startup CARICAD continued to make a significant contribution to the project through participating in the work of the Steering Committee and providing Technical Advisory personnel in the area of Information and Communications Technologies.
