CARICAD COLLABORATES WITH CROWN AGENTS, UK


CARICAD has been engaged by Crown Agents to undertake a project initiated by the Government of Barbados (GOB) focused on the modernization of Customs and Excise.

 

The project is partially funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and focuses on Operational Procedures, Training and Planning Systems for the Customs and Excise Department. CARICAD forms part of a three-person team tasked with the deliverables of the project.

 

Specifically, the goals of this ten-week Consultancy are:

 

(i)           Strengthen the administrative areas of the Customs and Excise Department

(ii)         Assess existing organizational tools such as procedure manuals, job descriptions, organizational charts and where necessary update or prepare new tools

(iii)       Advise on the training policy and establish a training system with the aim of achieving staff gains in efficiency and effectiveness

(iv)        Develop and implement a comprehensive planning and management information system with control mechanisms and continuous feedback to enable the department to carry out its planning activities

 

CARICAD has responsibility for the Training Systems component of this Consultancy.
